About the Xchange
PNW Cutters Xchange is a Pacific Northwest lapidary exchange — a place for cutters, collectors, and rockhounds to trade, price, and learn. Breaking corporate holds on artisans and people: no fees, no commissions, no algorithm between you and the person on the other side of the deal.
What lives here
Community Marketplace
Free classifieds for gems, rough, cabochons, specimens, equipment, and supplies. Free to post, free to browse — forever. Buyers and sellers arrange the sale directly: we don't process payments, hold funds, or take a cut. You can browse, search, and contact a seller without an account; a free account is only needed to post listings or use on-site messages.
Weekly Gem Digest
A free gem-market price report, published every Sunday — species pricing, trends, and dealer highlights from our tracked dealer network. Free, forever.
Faceting Design Studio — in the works
A browser-native faceting design CAD: open .gem, .gcs, and .asc designs, render them as 3D gems, check optical performance, and print a cutter sheet. No install. We're keeping it to ourselves until it's finished and right — it ships free when it's ready.
Seller Stores
Branded storefronts that collect a seller's listings in one place, with their own checkout and store mailbox. Free during our launch period; storefronts will become a paid feature down the road, and early stores keep their page.
The Auction Block — in progress
Timed auctions for sellers' own material. We run the software only — we're not an auctioneer and not a party to the sale. It opens once the licensing questions are answered properly.
The Shop — opening later
The one thing here we'll sell ourselves: a curated catalog of faceting rough and cut stones sourced directly by PNWCX, from our partners abroad and PNW dealers, photographed and graded before listing.
How we run it
The Xchange is a venue. Outside the Shop, every sale on this site is between the buyer and the seller — payment, shipping, and terms are theirs. Listings are subject to FTC treatment-disclosure rules, photos are scanned for content policy, and reports go to real moderators. See the Terms & Disclaimer for the full picture.
We're run from Yelm, Washington, and the community this grew out of — the Pacific Northwest cutters, teachers, and rockhounds who trade on WhatsApp and meet at guild nights — is the reason it exists. The goal is simple: a regional home for PNW lapidary, owned by nobody but the people who use it.
